
Relief Service Overview
All program services depend on the availability of funding.
Program services are provided on a first come, first serve basis to applicants located within the Sacramento Metropolitan Area.

Limitations may apply to the amount of financial assistance allowed for each service and the number of times the same service can be requested.
Baby Supplies
Requested baby supplies (bottles, blankets, formula, etc.) will either be made available for pick-up at a HERB selected market, grocery store, or children's store, or delivered to the applicant's place of residence (upon availability).
Clothing and Shoes
One or more new outfit(s) or shoes, for a qualified child or adult, will be made available for mail or pick-up at a HERB selected clothing store, based on the applicant's needs and selection, and attendance at a HERB goals and career planning workshop.
Payday Loan
Payment made directly to a payday loan company, when an applicant is past due or otherwise unable to pay, for qualified reasons, and applicant attends HERB's budgeting and goals development workshops.
Relief Program Eligibility Overview
Submission of a program application is required to request services. Some services may require proof of eligibility by
supplying requested documentation.
The minimum eligibility requirements for applicants are based on meeting one or more of the following criteria:
Age
Applicant must be at least 16 years of age.
Foster Youth
Current or former documented foster youth.
Enrolled in School
Enrolled in high school, or at least part-time, in an accredited college or trade school; successfully having completed at least one semester.
Recent Incarceration
Recent release from incarceration from a juvenile center
or county jail.
Income
All earned income is from government assisted services or minimum wage employment; the individual's or family income is at or below 250% of the FPL; or the household expense ratio is exceeded.
Workshop Attendance
Attendance at a HERB facilitated budgeting, goal development or career plannning workshop.
